Layered Macaroni and Cheese

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb elbow macaroni, cooked
  • 4 cups cheddar cheese, shredded, divided
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon paprika

Directions

  • 1 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • 2 Coat a 2-quart baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  • 3 Layer 1/3 of the cooked macaroni in the baking dish.
  • 4 Sprinkle with 1-1/2 cups cheese.
  • 5 Repeat the layers; top with the remaining macaroni.
  • 6 Reserve the remaining 1 cup cheese.
  • 7 In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until blended; pour over the macaroni.
  • 8 Cover and bake for 45 minutes, or until heated through.
  • 9 Uncover and sprinkle with the remaining cheese and the paprika.
  • 10 Cover and let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
